Following the success of their first collaboration this winter, Uniqlo and Orla Kiely just announced plans to team up on another collection. To that, we say "YES."
Like Marimekko or Missoni, London-based designer Orla Kiely is known for her prints: geometric patterns in rich color pairings, like orange and indigo.
Just as the busy prints energize Kiely’s classically-tailored pieces—like this coat dress Kate Middleton wore—they inject a bit of adrenaline into Uniqlo’s easy basics. Which is great, because as much as we love the fast fashion chain’s solid t-shirts and button downs, we love paying the same prices for standout, Kiely-printed pieces even more.
While there’s no official release date yet for the second collaboration, we know the price range will stay the same: $12.90 for a scarf, $19.90 for a tee and $39.90 for a tunic dress, like the ones above. That’s more than enough to get us pull us into a Uniqlo store (a necessary step, since the chain still doesn’t have e-commerce).
