In shoe astronomy, the platform heel–sturdy, uncomplicated, sexy—is the North Star. The currently-ubiquitous 70s-inspired silhouette is undeniably a lot of glorious things rolled into one comfy yet gam-flattering package. But, as our friends at The Frisky so astutely noticed, the sky is big enough for more than one constellation.
Recently, the classic pointy toe has re emerged as a rival beacon. The throwback style is a timely and graceful alternative to played-out, clunkier styles, and with its elongated tip and narrow silhouette, makes your legs look out of this world.
See below for some of my pointy-toe picks, and check out The Frisky’s “An Open Letter to Platform Shoes” here.
