With lives centered around tasks like creating lace for Kate Middleton’s wedding dress or designing prints for Givenchy’s spring collection, creative directors work in the subjective, aesthetic world.
But a new ranking system measures their success by numbers alone, assigning them a rigid 1-10 digit. Compiled by PeekScore, the rankings analyze each creative director’s web popularity, through both news presence and social networking efforts.
Unsurprisingly, creative directors of eponymous or giant labels (Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney) topped the list. But some seemingly quieter figures creeped up the rankings, while others were suspiciously missing (Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, for example).
