Peep Rita Ora‘s massively popular Instagram account, and you’ll see the 23-year-old songstress has more than enough on her to-do list to keep her busy. Her 2.1 million followers have seen her travel the globe to promote her latest single, land a campaign with Roberto Cavalli and launch a line with Rimmel London.
But lately, Ora’s been designing her own collection for Adidas, a European, streetwear-inspired line that’s set to hit stores on August 21 and will go on for three seasons until fall 2015; she’ll also be the first female artist collaborator for Adidas in the brand’s history. (Stella McCartney notwithstanding.)
"I’m a massive fan of the brand," Ora told our friends at Women’s Wear Daily. "I grew up working at a sneaker store when I was 16 and am a huge sneaker head. It’s so cool that I’m able to do this with a brand that I sold when I was younger."
When it came time to crafting her capsule’s footwear, apparel, outwear and accessories, Ora took absolutely everything into account, especially her own sensibilities and tastes. "I studied all of their shoes and their archives from the past 50 years," she said. "I wanted people to be comfortable but be sexy at the same time…The biggest advice was that [Adidas] said is to be yourself and be confident in what you’re doing and confident in what you wear…You have to be brave and do what you like. I think my fashion will represent that."
