Shoemaker Robert Clergerie already has a bunch of stores in France—and even several in Paris—but we especially like his newly opened Left Bank boutique. Jewel box-sized with slate interiors and sleek seating, it’s like a super-small art gallery, ideal for showcasing the talent of the brand’s new creative director, Roland Mouret.
While Mouret concocts body-skimming dresses at his namesake label, at Robert Clergerie he mixes up a more comfort-doused cocktail, and that’s a good thing. It’s true to the brand, which has stamped its fancy designer footprint via textured brogues and square-heeled pumps, not pencil-thin stilettos. Instead, these are the shoes girls want to wear for work, parties and the walk home.
