We’ll admit: we feel slightly bad for those big-name collaborations getting announced after the Holy Grail of all partnerships, Alexander Wang for H&M. But while we sit here and twiddle our thumbs until November (or, debate getting in line now), we would be remiss to not highlight a particular capsule collection that’s sure to nab headlines.
Roland Mouret, known for his flattering, linear dresses, is designing a 25-piece line for Banana Republic, hitting stores worldwide in August. While dresses will undoubtedly serve as the collection’s crème de la crème, Roland Mouret for Banana Republic will also feature skirts, tops, pants and sweaters, all in the designer’s familiar colorblocked palette.
"It’s not a copy of my clothes in a less expensive [version], but the experience of a fitted dress for the Banana Republic customer," Mouret said in an interview. "You should be able to try on a dress that fits you like a glove."
The prices for the line will range from a very reasonable $49.50 to $165.
