Word on the street is that a rare pair of Judy Garland‘s ruby slippers are due to be auctioned to the highest bidder on December 16. One of several pairs made for the classic film, The Wizard of Oz, these sequined lovelies are pretty much in mint condition. We’re not going to lie: we totally want them.
The have leather red-painted soles (perhaps a later inspiration for Mr. Louboutin?), gem-encrusted bows and come October 31 all you need is a gingham dress and BAM! Best costume at the party.
Unfortunatly our limited finances have poked a few holes in our plan; the covetable pumps are estimated to go for somewhere between two and three million dollars. With those kind of numbers in our head, the $650 Miu Miu sparkle heels we’re been eyeing look downright thrifty, right? [LA Times]
