This morning we headed over to the Lauren Moffatt showroom to get our summer dress fix. The sample sale consisted of stock primarily from the current spring/summer collection at markdowns up to 70 percent, including the red, white and blue linen “Crepes on the Canal” top (originally $225, now $60), the green floral “Luxembourg Garden” skirt (originally $250, now $90) and striped denim culottes (originally $250, now $60). For those looking to get her hands on the ever-so-popular “Table at Taillevent” tulip lace dress (originally $400, now only $120), we suggest you hurry. At last count, there were only three left. (As for the much-photographed blue and white “Table at Taillevent” cape, we’re sorry to report those babies are already sold out).
A side rack is also jam-packed with older stock (wool plaid shorts, embellished skirts, swingy dresses) and slight irregulars–all for $60. And as a special treat to her loyal fans, Moffatt dug deep into her archives and pulled out old samples of her limited-edition Lauren Moffatt for Modern Vintage shoe collection. The clog sandals, vintage-y pointy-toe flats, and studded slouchy boots–which retailed for $400–are now a mere $50 (sizes 6,7, 9 and 10 are available). Don’t forget: it’s cash only for purchases under $250.
