Valentino Garavani may be as well known for his relationships with models and celebrities as he is for that little red dress. The proof was in the crowd at last night’s ridiculously chic party to celebrate the launch of the Valentino Garavani Virtual Museum, held at Manhattan’s IAC building. (Click here to read more about the free app, which features runway show videos dating back to the ’80s, sketches and multi-angle close-ups of every famous Valentino gown ever worn.)
Along with more A-listers than any designer could ask for—Sarah Jessica Parker mingled with Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon, who chatted up China Chow, who in turn said hello to Claire Danes, who spent at least 20 minutes in conversation with Courtney Love—there were masses of fashion elites digging into three kinds of pasta (ravioli, risotto and lasagna). Former Valentino model Debbie Dickinson shared stories of her experiences with Garavani on—and off—the runway (the Battle of Versailles included), while Rachel Zoe stuck close to hubby Rodger Berman.
Zoe, by the way, was definitely the best dressed person in the room, wearing a sheer, polka-dotted dress from the Spring 2011 runway.
