Yesterday, all four Obamas arrived in Northern Ireland for the G8 summit in Enniskillen (bt dubs, I have zero idea how to say that out loud) wearing outfits much too heavy for any weather back in America, particularly here in New York City. Temperatures are creeping upwards of 80 degrees outside as I type this, and just looking at the pictures, full of wool suit jackets, twill trousers and long trenches, makes me feel itchy and hot. It’s a terrible case of timing for the First Family: just when the thunderstorms stop in one country, they have to fly to another!
Still, despite the damp and chilly conditions across the Atlantic, Sasha and Malia Obama did manage to squeeze something summery in their ensembles with some colorful flats from J.Crew. I really love both pairs, and can imagine wearing them with most any warm-weather look, but I am especially partial to Malia’s pink d’Orsay Mary Janes (then again, I’m a sucker for any footwear with a side dip). It’s totally possibly that both styles will find a way into my wardrobe, though, as neither one costs over $200. Click through the slideshow below to shop them both now.
