Spring’s the season to break out those jean shorts (more affectionately known as "jorts"), sandals and casual tees–because no one wants to be covered up when warmer weather rolls around! The best way to dress up spring’s casual basics is, you guessed it, by stepping up your jewelry game. Whether you wear your bracelets and necklaces layered, stacked or singly, they’re a perfect way to add some sparkle to your go-to spring uniform.
The one thing that can really put a damper on your accessorizing game, however is sensitive skin—which usually stems from nickel allergies. While most jewelry-related skin irritation occurs with earrings, more sensitive ladies can feel the affects with necklaces or bracelets as well, especially during warmer weather when more skin’s exposed. The best practice is to stay away from any alloy metals and stick with hypoallergenic ones like 18 to 24 karat gold, palladium, platinum or stainless/surgical steel. Gold- or silver-plated pieces work for some (but not all). If you have allergies, you may have to test a few materials before you find what works for you–just make sure the retailer has a fair return policy! In the slideshow above, I’ve found 17 charming jewelry finds for those with sensitive skin—all at a wide variety of price points. Click through to shop.
