There were many, many things we loved about Jason Wu’s Fall 2013 show—chief among them the runway’s Phantom-of-the-Opera-esque chandelier centerpiece, the fur-shouldered outerwear and the Michelle-Obama-ready finale gowns. But if pressed to choose our absolute favorite looks, they’d surely be the asymmetrical, almost dress-like peplum tops in polka-dotted silk that Wu showed with skinny black trousers. They were a totally modern take on eveningwear, and reminded us a bit of what Raf Simons has been doing over at Dior lately.
But while sheer peplum blouses with floor-skimming hemlines might be best saved for the red carpet, you can easily get the look by combining a standard frill-waisted top of longish length with any slim black pants you’d like. Click through to shop some options!
