How did most of us celebrate our fifth birthdays? Following a quick, unsurprising office poll, there were a lot of princess-themed parties and various desserts brought into kindergarten classes. But when the internet’s most fashionable outlet turns five, we expect a fête slightly more festive than two dozen red velvet cupcakes.
Enter The Outnet’s fifth anniversary, which we all get to enjoy thanks to an exclusive collection of limited-edition styles. These pieces have been handpicked by some of the industry’s most prominent designers—and modeled by seven impressive influencers, Garance Doré, Caroline Issa, Harley-Viera Newton, Leigh Lezark, Alexandra Richards, Leandra Medine and Jessica Hart.
One of the reissued pieces, a soft printed dress from Jason Wu, was chosen for the obvious reason that those particular florals are one of Wu’s favorite archival prints. "The print comes from the Resort 2011 collection inspired by Anna Karenina, which I showed at the iconic St. Regis Hotel," he told us exclusively. "It was really one of my breakthrough collections and perfectly defined my feminine, glamorous aesthetic with a couture-meets-sportswear sensibility."
As for the candy-colored Preen pencil skirt (once worn by none other than Michelle Obama), Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi said: "It was great to revisit the past and look through our archive collections," said the duo. "We continuously look to the future and the seasons go by so fast that sometimes we don’t have a real chance to enjoy one collection before we move onto the next."
