I’m crazy about Tarte’s sensitive skin-friendly makeup formulas—instead of harsh chemicals and parabens, the brand uses colored Amazonian clay that specifically soothes skin while also controlling oil so that the colors last. I think some of the best beauty products can be found overseas, so I love the idea of a makeup line bringing an exotic ingredient straight to my fingertips without having to cash in my miles.
Following my longtime love affair with their shimmery eyeshadow shades, I’m excited to try something new with the brand’s first all-matte eye and cheek palette, Be Mattenificient, which just launched. It’s made of those same good-for-you clays, but it also includes color-correcting technology that has been popping up in the skincare world (á la CC creams) to brighten and even out the skin on your cheeks and eyelids. In this new palette, you’ll find six limited-edition neutral shadows, two eyeliners and a universally flattering light pink blush with a goof-proof map of how to use each shade for the perfect makeup look.
