What do a pop superstar, a rock and roll hall of famer and an heir to England’s throne all have in common? They have a soft spot for performing one of karaoke’s all time greatest hits, apparently.
Here’s the only news you need to know this morning: Taylor Swift, Jon Bon Jovi and Prince William took to the stage at last night’s Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace to belt an acoustic rendering of "Livin’ On a Prayer." We’ll admit, when we first heard news of this performance, we had a bit of a, "Wait, they know each other?" moment. But upon further inspection, we came to conclusion that it’s Taylor Swift, Jon Bon Jovi and Prince William—of course they do.
Swift dressed appropriately for a fancy night with royalty in an über-angelic princess gown from Reem Acra’s Spring 2014 collection. In true Swift fashion, it’s both chic and tasteful, featuring an off-the-shoulder, lacy and metallic embellishmed bodice and long, enveloping layers of chiffon. The look was somewhat expected, but a black-tie function with British royalty is simply not the time to mess around with testy style risks.
We did some serious digging, and we’re fairly confident no video documentation—be it Vine, Instagram or otherwise—exists of the too-good-to-be-true number (ugh), but we’re not giving up just yet. In the meantime, here’s a photo of the three best friends for you to obsess over. Repeatedly. All day.
