The Scene: The Plaza Hotel is gorgeous. The ornate backdrop felt more like Paris or Milan than modern New York— perfect for the retro colors and silhouettes that came down the runway.
The Look: The collection felt like the wardrobe of an impossibly chic French woman in the ’70s, who was too busy doing sophisticated and important things to be partying all night at Studio 54. But if she did happen to be dragged there one night to accompany Liza Minelli and Halston, she sipped on a glass of champagne for an hour and politely excused herself so she could get a good night’s rest before returning to her fabulous job in the morning. Not because she didn’t know how to have fun— she wears red minis, leopard trim collars and mixes romantic reds with pinks, after all. Perhaps she was a writer for a prestigious women’s lifestyle magazine. Just saying.
The Pieces We Want: There is a fuzzy, red sweater that I can’t get out of my head. And everything else done in red and pink. And as always, anything with a pointy collar.
