I’ve never set foot on skis, yet suddenly I am living in these ski pants from chic outerwear brand Erin Snow. I randomly borrowed them from my friend—a die-hard skier/snowboarder—and after trekking around the city on a couple of bitter, painfully cold winter days, there was no way I was taking them off. (Sorry, friend.) These sleek black skinnies keep me so much warmer than anything else in my closet.
The Jes Racer Pants, as they’re called, are also crazy-flattering. Even after an epic brunch and full-fat hot chocolate (extra whip!), I still looked and felt really sleek. That’s because they’re made of high-performance, ultra-techy fabric that smoothes your body like the world’s most amazing Spanx. In one morning, I ate for five men but looked like I’d lost five pounds.
The fabric also has a ton of "memory": after wearing these pants for three days in a row, they didn’t sag or stretch out. You pay for this technology, which is why these pants are pricey. But if you’re struggling to find confidence-boosting black pants—and live in an area where the winters are brutal—they’re worth it. Besides, I’ve spent more money on winter coats that made me look fatter and didn’t keep me half as warm.
