The following is a guest post from our friends at The Beauty Department.
Dusting some velvet powder over your wet nail polish is awesome this time of year; there’s something about the texture that’s just so luxe and winter-y. The only problem with it is that—in our experience—it’s hard to add any designs on top of the velvet powder, because paint sort of beads up on top of it.
So here’s our solution: stick with little dots like these gold ones, which, when they bead up on top of the powder, kinda look like studs. Combined with the black velvet, the mani reminds us of our favorite dream bag: a studded Alexander McQueen minaudière both Beyoncé and Kate Moss would love. (And which we definitely can’t buy, but we can replicate in a mani.)
