The Scene: For his fall collection, titled "Town & Country," America’s master of prep transformed the Park Avenue Armory into an elegant garden complete with a red brick runway and ivy-laced walls. The gravel walkway leading up to the square-shaped catwalk might have been murder on editors’ stilettos, but it sure fit the mood.
The Soundtrack: Tommy was going for patrician elegance here, and played both string-heavy classical music and Lana Del Rey‘s hazy single "National Anthem."
The Look: Downton Abbey meets military prepster. The opening section of riding coats would certainly appeal to both Lady Sybil and her beau Branson, while a long-sleeved chiffon cocktail dress with gridded embellishment had Lady Mary’s name written all over it. Equestrian flourishes were everywhere, with bridle-and-bit prints splashed over several silk dresses and models wearing riding helmets. And speaking of print, there were some wonderful pieces in red-and-blue plaid mohair.
Pieces We Want: The polished yet still sexy side-slit skirts with leather paneling were beautiful, as were the leather military-style shirtdresses.
