But right now, all I can think about is the Tour de France.
My husband’s a Tour obsessive—he loves watching the cyclists circle the French countryside. And every year, I try to (virtually) tag along for the three-week competition. Usually, I end up watching about a quarter-of-a-day’s worth of bicycling. But this time, I really got into it. There was so much drama! One day, someone—they still don’t know who!—threw nails on to the road, ruining a few major competitor’s chances of winning. And another guy claimed, after testing positive for doping, that he was poisoned! So theatrical.
Sure, the salacious stuff drew me in, but then I actually began to enjoy the competition. I also became a fan of the polka dot jersey worn by the King of the Mountain, (the best climber in the competition). Very Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton.
In honor of the Tour, I rounded up some bicycle-inspired trinkets, all under $50. (So you can save the rest for a ticket to France!)
