In honor of the label’s 50th anniversary, Valentino creative directors Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri made a capsule collection that’s very beautiful and very, very exclusive. The ready-to-wear (overcoats and ponchos in zebra, giraffe and tiger prints) and accessories (moccasins, studded bangles) will be sold only at a few Valentino boutiques throughout the year. So they’re literally hard to get.
And while these collectible pieces aren’t cheap, they could be considered a practical investment. Seriously. Unlike many incredibly distinct, bold purchases, the toppers don’t have an age-induced expiration date on them. They can be very "I’m with the band" on a 20-year-old. Or very "hip grandmother" on someone Iris Apfel‘s age. But regardless of how the coats are styled, a little bit of wear only makes them better.
