The Summer 2012 Olympics don’t begin until July, but the fashion world has been buzzing about the international competition for a while now. Recently, we spotted both Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton hosting preliminary events (in very cool outfits, naturally), as well as plenty of runway collections influenced by traditional sportswear.
The latest label on our radar is tennis star Venus Williams’ EleVen line, which is relaunching after a four year hiatus. Inspired by her experience as an athlete, the range includes stuff for men and women and is priced from $17 to $48.
"EleVen is really about being better than a 10," Williams told WWD about her latest project. "It’s bringing your personal best which makes you an 11, and not accepting the standards of what is considered the best….It’s overcoming defeats and being a champion in life."
Everything is debuting today at the Bath Club in Miami and should soon be available online at Elevenbyvenus.com.
What do you think of wearing athletic gear beyond the gym? Would you wear a tennis dress off the court?
