While HBO’s Girls is no stranger to pop culture buzz, it seems as if the show’s third season has been getting the most attention yet. As we’ve been patiently waiting for Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna and Jessa’s return on January 12, we’ve been routinely surprised by news surrounding the premiere—including Girls‘ brand-new starring cast member, J. Crew’s president and creative director Jenna Lyons. Is Victoria Beckham next?
Last November, it was rumored that Victoria would "love a cameo in the next season" of Girls, but that was formally shot down by the designer’s representatives. According to the Daily Mail, however, Lena Dunham quickly jumped on board.
As the series’ creator told Vanity Fair, "That shocked me! She didn’t say it to me, but she said it in the media, and I was like, ‘We’ll get to work on that!’" Lena, who first met the Beckhams last month at a CFDA Fashion Fund event at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, went further to discuss Victoria’s potential cameo: "I’d love to see Victoria Beckham, like, dress it down a little bit, maybe do Victoria Beckham as somebody’s adult-education teacher or something…I love her; she’s very chic and nice."
Well, that’s Professor Beckham to you!
