Somewhere between Floral Fantasy Bra fittings and sweaty I’m-going-be-nationally-televised-in-lingerie-worthy workouts, Alessandra Ambrosio found time to shoot London Fog’s new campaign. Lucky for her, she had an equally photogenic co-star to help with the job: her adorable 4-year-old, Anja.
While this isn’t the brand’s first time spotlighting major celebrities—London Fog has worked with Christina Hendricks, Gisele Bündchen, Eva Longoria and Nicole Scherzinger in the past—the mommy/daughter element is something new. It’s working, too. The pair’s palpable chemistry is beautifully captured and brings something new and really special to the pictures. Also, little Anja is a total natural and completely at ease in front of the camera—perhaps even more so than her underwear-model mother.
"As a mom, having my daughter steal the spotlight is pretty funny, and I just love it," Alessandra said in an interview with People. "It’s really cute."
Most of the advertisments involve the two wearing various types of outwear—colorful trenches, fur-trimmed puffers, rainboots—but there is one kind of confusing shot of them both topless and hugging. It’s tastefully done and they obviously look flawless, but it still seems a wee bit misleading. Cause, like, London Fog sells outerwear for nasty Hurricane-Sandy’s-thunder-snow-cousin-is-coming kind of weather. What do you think?
