Leave it to Beyoncé and Jay Z to gather an award-winning cast more high-powered than most Oscar-nominated movies—for what’s just a four-minute video. In extremely well-timed news (yes, we’re referencing The Elevator Incident—again), the hip-hop power couple has released a new music video titled "Run" to kick off their joint On the Run summer tour.
Crafted as a faux movie trailer, "Run" features Bey and Jay as steamy bank robbers who flirt with danger amongst guns, motorcycles, Spring Breakers-esque ski masks and stacks upon stacks of cash. It’s The trailer is packed to the brim with cameos from numerous A-listers including Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Rashida Jones and her sister Kidada, Don Cheadle, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sean Penn and Scandal‘s Guillermo Díaz.
"Run" appears to be a modern-day nod to the couple’s first-ever collaboration in 2002, "’03 Bonnie & Clyde," and its 2013 reboot, "Part II (On the Run)," the latter of which plays in the background of the trailer.
We’re guessing the duo’s new mini-film won’t be made into a real movie anytime soon, but we can dream, can’t we? Watch the "Run" trailer below:
