Jean Paul Gaultier was just named Diet Coke’s creative director.
Like Karl Lagerfeld— who held the post last year— Gaultier will design limited edition Diet Coke cans that reflect his aesthetic. For a fashion designer, that seems pretty natural. (Other other one-off Diet Coke can designers include Roberto Cavalli, Matthew Williamson and Consuelo Castiglioni at Marni.)
But unlike anyone before him, Gaultier will also produce three short films for the brand, which so far seem like the most compelling part of the collaboration.
Watch below to see what we mean—starring Gaultier and a Tim Burton-esque bobblehead doll, the film is creepy, kind of sexual and a little hypnotic.
