The weather’s noncompliance aside (low 40s in late March—seriously, now?), I’ve got the spring cleaning itch. I want to check the expiration date on every spice bottle in my kitchen. I want to sort through my books and arrange them by thickness and height. I want to open my windows and use a Q-tip to get all the gunk that collects in the sill’s white plastic track. But most of all, I want to go over my closet with a fine-tooth comb in search of things I don’t wear.
Beautiful, designer shoes I paid way too much for but never took out of the box, a vintage fringe-trimmed cowboy jacket I bought on impulse but am seriously not cool enough to pull off, the awesomest pants ever that simply don’t fit—no rogue item will be spared my mercy. The more pieces I part with, the better my chance of making tons of money for new clothes—clothes I’ll actually use—on one of the resale and swap sites in the slideshow above. And it won’t even cut into the rest of my spring cleaning time: each platform makes the process super-easy for girls like me who don’t have room in their schedules to set up a full-on eBay or Etsy shop (although, man, do I ever love shopping other people’s e-boutiques) by doing at least some portion, if not all of, the grunt work. All I have to do is sit back and collect!
Do you have a wardrobe filled with stuff that’s just catching dust, too? Click through to turn it into cash and new clothes (which are kind of the same thing, since extra money is meant for shopping, no?).
