Jason Wu‘s first foray into home goods—a collaboration with Nest candles—wasn’t supposed to hit stores until April 1. But according to Shefinds.com, the designer’s "Orchid Rain" candle just landed at Neiman Marcus.
I’d suggest buying the candle soon, even though I haven’t actually smelled it (unlike Elana and John, who attended Jason’s "Orchid Rain" cocktail party earlier this year.) Even if I don’t know how the floral, pomegrante and pepper scent materializes, I do know that the candle looks pretty, thanks to a minimalist box, gold lid and cannister decorated with an orchid print from Jason’s Spring 2012 collection.
And I also know that at $48, it’ll probably lure both the ladies who lunch (who buy Jason’s ready-to-wear) and the more budget-minded (who bought his Target collaboration). I fall into the latter group, and I’d probably buy it just to have something luxurious-looking on my coffee table. Which means I’ll be heading here to shop the candle—and quickly, in case its early arrival is some sort of temporary, twisted April Fool’s joke.
