Happy (sort of) spring everyone! I’ve finally crawled out from under the pile of sweaters I’ve been buried in all winter, and am here to celebrate the imminent arrival of warmer weather with another office crush. Leigh Belz Ray is many things: phenomenal deputy editor here at Lucky, music connoisseur, Gregular, my boss—the list goes on and on. She also happens to be a major fan of simple, relaxed wardrobe staples, which makes her a girl after my own heart.
One of the first things I noticed about LBR was her impressive collection of shift dresses. And not only is that simple silhouette the perfect match for her easygoing personality, but Leigh also accessorizes every look in such a way that strikes the perfect balance between feminine and boyish, which is no easy feat! Case in point: her Elie Tahari white lace dress. I love when she wears it because it’s just so lovely to look at (is that weird to say about one’s boss? Oh well!), especially on a drizzly gray day. But what I love even more is the fact that LBR pairs it with black tights and menswear-inspired booties. It toughens the look just the right amount, but is still 100 percent polished. Leigh snagged her lace dress on Gilt, and it’s unfortunately no longer available, but click through for a few lovely, lacy options that would look equally awesome with tomboy add-ons.
