I loved Tara Subkoff’s Imitation of Christ show last Saturday night—it brilliantly questioned the modeling industry’s standards of beauty. The first room was lined with women of all types gazing into gold-plated mirrors changing their clothes, touching up their makeup (by Hourglass), and adjusting their hair (by Batiste Dry Shampoo.) Semi-naked women in the second room were marked up as if about to undergo plastic surgery, and wearing glass pieces by artist Ivan Lee Mora. A video about the harsh reality of Photoshop and extreme surgery played on loop.
All of the women were glamorous in their differences, and the everyday routine of getting dressed and changing outfits over and over captured how all women feel in the morning. Here at Lucky, we now have a similar “team” of models, also all sizes and shapes, also showing how they put super-stylish outfits together every day—click here!
